Human racial inequality from early colonization to Civil War Essay

Human racial imbalance from early colonization to Civil War - Essay Example The demonstration of oppressing others, features on the mystery of the incomparable American history, established dependent on the beliefs of cultivating opportunity and balance. Fundamentally, the consequence of such oddity waits in the American culture, even at the present (Dempsey 129). Race as a term, characterizes a social classification grouped as far as social shows and in this light, racial limits, are frequently attracted to mean various things. In the United States, one might be arranged as â€Å"Black† incase that individual have a place with a heredity of African family line. Basically, such arrangement or characterization means an outrageous kind of paired racial order and ponders the pattern on how people were grouped in the United States, after the finish of the Civil War. In America, the demonstration of spreading imbalance during the time of settlements to the furthest limit of the Civil War didn't influence just one gathering, the African Americans, yet in ad dition, other minority bunches also. Bigotry, has a significant effect in the American culture and keeps on affecting on the lives of every single American resident including, the Whites (Seligman 78). The Whites, during this period, were persecuted in two unique ways that incorporates a rehashed division of political and social developments that subverts individual’s ability to contradict the current kinds of disparity and force. In this sense, the tip top and people with significant influence keep on gaining by the race issue as an instrument to separate individuals while, storing up more force for motivation behind securing the interests of their group. Around 1880s, there existed a political development comprising of means ranchers and laborers in the Midwest and the south. This development seemed like creation a few advances in their mission against the elites in the south and other enormous landowners. This populist gathering, represented a test to the political elites of the time in any case, racial clash, wound up deteriorating the solidarity among the agrarian populists hence adding to the fall of the development (Seligman 80). Then again, the second way wherein the presence of imbalance influence the lives of the burdened Whites of that period, included, sabotaging the universalistic angles identified with the government assistance state. This projects, should profit everybody in the general public, be that as it may, such projects, are appeared differently in relation to the recognized projects implied uniquely to profit an assigned gathering. At the period the government assistance program was actualized in the United States, restriction rose up out of the Democrats in the South concerning universalistic arrangements since, such approaches may profit both the White, just as the African Americans. These basically, are beliefs proliferated on account of propelling bigot ideas as obvious from the moderate Southern Democrats (Young 20). On anoth er note, when the European pioneers relocated to America, there was at that point an indigenous populace living in that locale of the world and had authority over their financial asset, which, was land. So as to gather this asset, the British state occupied with demonstrations of dislodging to take the land from the Native people group. Development of Customer Service Strategy †MyAssignmenthelp.com

Question: Examine about the Development of Customer Service Strategy. Answer: Presentation So as to increase a serious edge and a recognized situation in the market, the association needs to work with the assistance of the most significant apparatus known as client care. The presentation of the organization is altogether dictated by its client care. The degree of administration cooked by the association is recognized by the administration gave to its customer. To make a sound client care technique, it is basic that it is identified with the coordinations arrangement of the organization. This implies, satisfying the prerequisites of the clients in a productive way so that the different divisions which participate in making the administration accessible to the end client are all together also. This procedure of joining a significant level of client care with offices like transportation, creation, producing, quality control and buy and so on so the above division capacities as well as could be expected is called as Customer calculated administration (Wang, 2013). Thusly, it i s a fuse of phenomenal client care with the spot and time utilities so as to make the administration or the item accessible to the end shopper. The administration of conveyance must be esteem included with a decent client association so the client sees it as an advantage and not just an item or a help. Procedure of Customer Service and its key components from a coordinations viewpoint The key component of a proficient strategic client care is to cause the client to associate with the organization at different levels as opposed to simply setting up an immediate contact with simply the promoting group who is liable for selling the item or the administration. There are different stages and mediums to speak with the client to cause them to feel special. It is the obligation of the organization to cause the client to feel its quality either by web based life through online methods or through mediums like media transmission to give client driven client care (Ross, 2016). This can be expounded with the assistance of a for example like on the off chance that an organization is into assembling of a specific item, at that point the requests got to make a buy would be dispatched to the buyer. Presently, to accomplish a decent consumer loyalty it is obvious that the customer of the organization would need to follow the time the item takes to arrive at the client. Additionally , the client would enquire the date and time when the item was dispatched for the conveyance. These inquiries can be unraveled by propelling an arrangement of cooperation among client and the business. The customer gets educated with the total data of the item with the assistance of connection electronically (Terry, 2014). The desires for the clients are essential to be met with the assistance of a productive client care arranged coordinations framework. Conveying the item or an assistance with the assistance of different circulation channels and divisions alongside furnishing slice through arrangements with in specified time to the clients is the way to accomplish consumer loyalty. As coordinations comprises of conveying the correct amount, right item, and right nature of the item at the perfect time, ideal spot at the correct expense to the correct client through the correct methods, it is basic to address the necessities of the client through a productive client driven methodolog y (Oliveira and Gimeno, 2014). All the components about dealing with the stock comprising of questions in regards to things, areas and amounts of stock are to be kept in thought. Moving further settling on the method of transport, making a calendar and a course through which the item will be delivered and arranging the measure of burden to be dispatched are the elements which are kept in the psyche. These exercises are dealt with by different committed divisions like stock office, transport office, warehousing and bundling office (Mangan and Lalwani, 2016). The principle job of coordinating client support process with coordinations framework is understanding the sort of administration required by the customer from the business. The primary center is dealing with the conveyance framework so that it tends to the specific needs of the client (Rushton, Croucher and Baker, 2017). This point is just conceivable through client correspondence and association so as to decide the needs of the client. The requirements identified with the time taken during the travel, cost brought about in the shipment, unwavering quality regarding the quality can be satisfied with the assistance of a coordinated methodology. The primary job of the coordinations of an association is to guarantee that the administration or the item offered is put and conveyed accurately to the client. In this way, an organization needs a weapon to increase a serious edge over its rivals in the market. In the event that there is a nearby client relationship kept up by the organization as far as development of items and administrations directly from the provider liable for making the administration/item accessible to the client liable for expending the administration, at that point the strategic framework gets intuitive. The client support process involves key components which requires envisioning and perceiving the wants of the customer and give them the fitting answers for address these wants precisely (Christopher, 2013). A decent client assistance lays accentuation on drawing in the applicable divisions in the gracefully chain with the customer so the client knows about the business and they don't feel misdirect. For example A magazine organization has tie ups with merchant firms who are occupied with exercises like wrapping, arranging the goal, dealing with the database, creating tie ups with carrier and delivery organizations for transportation. This organization needs to incorporate different channels of dissemination with compelling client support to achieve viability in the framework. Moreover, another significant component of calculated client assistance is accomplishing consumer loyalty which is conceivable with presenting an open door in the framework to make the necessary enhancements in the administration offered by the organization. In the event that there is a standard correspondence between the business and the customer, at that point there is an open trade of desires and the ideal changes are made and managed, which helps in fulfilling the clients. The most significant component of a powerful coordinations client care is the clients achievement. The guarantee of pleasing the end client gets satisfied when the administration rendered to them offer them more than their desires. This is accomplished by going an additional mile for making adjustments and serving their necessities by clarifying them the working of the frameworks of the business (Barnes and Hunt, 2013). A client care approach is called proficient when it is created in such a way, that the business looks for approaches to clarify all the highlights, qualities, and the proper information required to comprehend the item alongside taking their inputs or audits so the desires can be tended to. Effect on advancement of the Customer Service Strategy So as to procedures the coordinations administration practices of a business, there are two elements who are included significantly. One is the seller providing the item and the other is the end client expending the item. Thusly, the system of rendering the client support has a significant result of the providers, sub provider and different middle people associated with the flexibly chain the executives. A client support system includes acquainting the end clients with answers for their necessities. Concerning the components of coordinations client care there is an extraordinary effect of different directs in the gracefully chain the executives on the client care of the business. The procedures engaged with the coordinations arrangement of the systematic obtainment of crude material till it arrives at the beneficiary for utilization incorporate all the exercises like recognizing and picking providers, finding the channels of dissemination and knowing the nature and area of distributi on centers for capacity and overseeing stock. Consequently, it is difficult to meet the desires and discover answers for the clients questions without drawing in the committed divisions including above exercises to speak with the end client (Pontius, 2017). For example there are different inquiries which should be offered an explanation to the customer in the stage when the exchange happens for a specific request. The customer needs to realize the time devoured in preparing the request, the item accessibility, regardless of whether the request can be delayed, the desk work which should be all together and the consistency in conveyance of the item (Wallace and Xia, 2014). Additionally, the component of consumer loyalty impacts the definition of client support procedure all things considered. This can be delineated with the assistance of a for example for example the client is interested about the value citation of the item, the charges of shipment, harm and protection during the trav el and the item quality. Every one of these disarrays are managed by a productive client support technique (Riyad, 2013). In this way, expectation, client commitment and client accomplishment from a coordinations viewpoint are the components which have a significant ramifications in building up a successful client care technique. A coordinations technique whenever intended to cause the clients to feel special prompts achieve cost viability alongside giving an extraordinary client assistance. This implies it is required for the coordinations division of a business to go about as an interface between the business and the client to be effective in technique detailing and execution End The fundamental goal of the coordinations client support is building up another methodology in which the members in the gracefully chain in a specific business are very much aware of their duties not just concerning the accomplices who exchange with them yet

The wide range of topics the site addresses is truly impressive; topics range from writing advice to legal resources and every subject matter in between (including topics such as self-publishing resources, writing for social change, and spotting scam literary agents). If you sign up for their newsletter, you can get Winning Writers list of The Best Free Literary Contests delivered directly to your inbox. Any writer interested in pursuing contests (and potentially earning prize money) should sign up for this newsletter, because Jendi digests the pertinent information about each contests rules and summarizes them in easy-to-understand language. She also gives her perspective about what kind of piece will likely win the contest, which is valuable advice that can save you time and help you to custom tailor your submissions and increase your chances in the contest. The contests Ive discovered on there are for credible publications with really exciting themes. The other members of my monthly Writing Group were thrilled when I shared this information with them, because many of them spend vast amounts of time researching contests in addition to writing their entries, and they were simultaneously excited and relieved to discover that Jendi Reiter has done most of the legwork for them! This resource saves you from having to scroll through online search results searching for contests; the editors at Winning Writers have done all the research and investigating for you, so you can easily glance at the contests and see which ones spark your interest and match your writing style. If you are hesitant about g iving out your email address (although they promise they will not share your email address or information with outside companies), you can access past issues of the newsletter on the site, but you risk missing opportunities for contests with shorter lead times.Under Whats New, the site features an extensive and continually updated list of Writing and Poetry contests, and they include prize and deadline information along with external links to each contest website for more detailed information. Based on the high standards and ethics exhibited throughout the rest of the site, interested writers and poets can confidently submit to the contest and publications featured here. One of the aspects of Winning Writers that I found most impressive and informative is their list of contests and publications that writers should avoid because they are not reputable, are vanity publishers, or are money-making schemes that will charge you to publish your work and will not improve your resume or portf olio (and may even possibly tarnish your resume). Most writers are passionate about their work, and that passion sometimes translates into a desperate need to see our work in print, which can lead to bad decisions such as paying to publish something youve spent weeks crafting. In addition to the list of organizations/contests to avoid, the site provides details on why they recommend avoiding certain organizations or contests. That additional information is quite useful for understanding the darker sides of the writing industry and learning how to spot some of the companies that try to exploit writers. The list and the explanations are valid and genuine. The fact that Winning Writers dedicated the time and resources to compile this list made me feel that they care about writers and the integrity of the writing industry. Red flags that the site warns about include anthologies that require poets or writers to purchase a copy of the anthology to get published, contests or publications t hat require you to relinquish too many of your intellectual property rights (which may prevent you from shopping the piece around or publishing it somewhere legitimate), and contests that include high non-refundable entry fees along with a fine print clause reserving the right to cancel the contest if they do not receive enough entries. In addition to this list and informative explanation, there is an extensive list of additional topics and external resources that can help prevent writers from being exploited when trying to get published. The Resources section of Winning Writers is elaborate, with at least forty-eight subheadings to choose from within this section. For writers interested in learning more about reputable publishing houses that publish books, journals, and magazines, the Publishers section provides two pages of quality options. The recommended publishers are listed in alphabetical order, and each listing is followed by a brief synopsis that summarizes the publishers sp ecialty and/or niche and what kind of writers might be interested in submitting for publication with them, along with a hyperlink that will take you to the publishers website if you want to find out more. Out of the seventy-two publishing houses listed, I was only familiar with three, so once again, Winning Writers has done most of the legwork for you in vetting these smaller entities. In the Resources section under the Books heading and Essential Tools subheading, I came across Bruce Holland Rogers article Ten Tips for Psychological Survival in Writing, which should be required reading for all writers, aspiring writers, poets, and aspiring poets. While many of the items within the Resources section provide summaries and links to outside sites if you want to read the entire essay or piece, this piece is printed in full on the site, which suggests that perhaps the people at Winning Writers also believe that Rogers Ten Tips for Psychological Survival in Writing contains essential infor mation for any and all writers. I urge you to head to the site and read it, or you can pick up a copy of Bruce Holland Rogers book Word Work: Surviving and Thriving As a Writer, which this essay is excerpted from. The Winning Writers website doesnt just provide resources and information about where to submit your writing for prizes and publication; they also host four contests (with substantial prizes) of their own:The Tom Howard/Margaret Reid Poetry Contest, which accepts all styles and themes of poetryThe Tom Howard/John H. Reid Fiction Essay Contest, which accepts all styles and themes of both fiction and non-fictionThe North Street Book Prize, which accepts submissions of self-published booksWergle Flomp Humor Poetry Contest (no fee), which accepts submissions of humorous poems. The site includes detailed descriptions of previous prize winners, including excerpts of the winning work. This is beneficial both for the winning writers, because it gives them exposure and publicity in addition to their prizes, and for future submitters, because it provides ample information about what sort of entries the judges consider prize worthy. If you dont have time to dig through previous contest winners to glean tips about how to write a winning essay, Arthur Powers, one of the judges of the Tom Howard/John H. Reid Fiction Essay Contest, wrote an article that reveals what he looks for in an award-winning essay. He is mindful that writing is subjective and everyone has a unique style, so in his advice he mentions multiple times that he doesnt want to influence anyones essay. However, he provides solid, useful tips about how to craft an essay that speaks to a contest judge. If you are interested in learning more about the judging process for poetry submissions, Ellaraine Lockie, one of the judges of the Tom Howard/Margaret Reid Poetry Contest, provides an in-depth interview with Jendi Reiter, in which she describes what aspects she considers when judging entries for the poet ry contest. If you are the author of a self-published book, you should absolutely consult Jendi Reiter and Ellen LaFleches article explaining what they look for when judging submissions for the North Street Book Prize. Reiter and LaFleche go into exquisite detail about how they select their favorites for this contest. They even include recommendations of their favorite books in every genre, so writers interested in submitting can conceptualize what sort of stories resonate with them. This kind of information is invaluable when entering contests â€" especially when first prize is $3,000!Another benefit of the Winning Writers newsletter is Critique Corner, where an editor (usually Jendi Reiter, who is also the vice president, or Tracy Koretsky) critiques a poem submission and provides advice about how to improve the poem, along with ideas regarding possible submission outlets. Reiter provides insightful comments about the poems and frequently compares them to popular or well-known poem s of similar genres. She is a beautiful and skilled writer, and even when providing suggestions for how to improve the poems, she does so with grace and compassion, and you can tell that her suggestions for change are because she truly wants to help the poet make the poem the best that it can possibly be. Winning Writers is no longer adding new critiques to its Critique Corner, but the existing critiques will remain online indefinitely. In addition to having their own staff of editors and contest judges, Winning Writers combs through the Internet and finds valuable articles with pertinent information to share with their readers. The links to outside resources are rich with advice for writers. Creative nonfiction writer Megan Galbraith tackles a frequent source of writers block for many creative nonfiction writers in her article Thats Not How I Remember It: Creative Nonfiction and the Art of Dealing with Doubters. The WinningWriters.com website should be a bookmarked tab in any aspirin g or established writers web browser. The site is dedicated to helping writers improve their craft, and the articles, tips, and resources on the site will guide all writers and poets aspiring to improve their crafts, and it may help you to get published or win a contest along the way.

The Demand and Supply of Housing

Question: Discuss about the Demand and Supply of Housing. Answer: Introduction The theory of demand and supply is one the basic concepts of economics which form the backbone of the market economy. Demand is the quantity of a commodity that buyers in a market desire. The quantity demanded is how much of a product (good or service) that buyers are willing and able to purchase at a given price in the market. This interaction between the quantity demanded and the price gives the demand relationship. On the other hand, supply refers to how much the market can offer. The quantity supplied is the amount of a commodity that sellers are willing and able to bring to the market at a particular time for all the given prices to give the supply relationship. Demand and supply therefore, reflect the price of the commodity(Salvatore, 2011). The quantity demanded of a commodity is affected by its price. When all other factors are held constant and the price of a normal commodity increases, the demand for it will reduce because now the consumer will have to pay more for it. The opposite happens when the price reduces while the other factors remain constant. This implies that price is inversely related to the quantity demanded. Increase in price causes a decrease in demand and vice versa. Another factor affecting demand include changes in the disposable income of the consumer. When the disposable income of consumer increase, they are able to afford more of the commodity hence the demand will increase. Demand also increases when the quality of a good is improved and advertising of the product that will lead to consumers building brand loyalty. Other factors include seasonal changes, future expectations of changes in the price of the commodity, and changes in the prices of other related commodities. Commodities can be related as either substitutes or complements. Supply is also affected by the price of the commodity. When the price of the commodity is high, the sellers will be willing to bring more to the market to maximise on revenue receipts and vice versa. Other factors include changes in the cost of production, expansion of the production capacity or entrance of other producers into the market, changes in the supply of other related goods, seasonal and climatic changes, technological changes, and government policies like taxation and subsidies. Demand for and Supply of Housing Similar to all other market in any economy, the law of demand and supply applies in the housing market. The market for houses involves buyers who are willing to pay for houses at a given price and sellers who are the investors and developers who are willing and able to supply houses to the buyers for a given price. The market forces of demand and supply come into play in the housing industry where the buyers will offer a price for a house and the seller may accept the offer or reject. Where supply meets demand, we will have an equilibrium price and quantity of houses. When the demand for houses equals the supply, we say the housing market is in equilibrium and the market will clear. At equilibrium, all the houses that are supplied to the market will be bought and there will be no shortage or surplus of houses(Farmer, 2007). The demand for housing is affected by the price of houses and their affordability. When the general prices of houses are high, it may not be affordable to some households. Such household may opt to live as communities. This reduces the quantity of houses demanded. Affordability of a house relates the income of a household to how much the household is willing to spend on residential housing. Housing affordability is different from affordable housing in that affordable housing refers to low-income houses or community housing, while affordability is a concept that relates income and expenditure of households. The income of households can increase due to higher productivity or due to increase in the prices of exports. When the households have a higher income and are willing to spend more on houses then the houses become more affordable and the demand will increase. Population growth will lead to increase in demands. The population growth in our country is high and therefore there is a high demand for houses especially in the young people who are looking for jobs. Population is increasing due to immigration by workers looking for job opportunities. However, population can reduce due to people marrying later or bearing fewer children, divorce and separation. Such factors could lead to the demand of houses reducing(Gruis Nieboer, 2010). When households have easy access to credit facilities, their demand for houses could increase. Ease of access of credit facilities such as loans may be made possible by reducing interest rates or financial deregulation. This makes acquiring loans from banks and non-bank financial institutions easy for households. In addition, the households can afford to pay back their loans. Financing for the purpose of home acquisition will increase the demand for houses including the trend that is now popular for households purchasing homes for speculative purposes(Gruis Nieboer, 2010). The demand for housing is relatively inelastic. Price elasticity of demand is the responsiveness of price to changes in demand. When the price increases, the demand will not fall by a big percentage. This is because housing is essential and a tenant will not vacate a house simply because rent has increased. Similar to demand, the supply of houses is affected by their price. When the prices are good, developers will be willing to build more house units so that they can maximise on revenue. Price of houses is determined by demand. When the demand is high, houses will fetch a good price in the market, the profits will be high, and the developers will supply more houses to the market. Contrary to this, low prices in the market could lead to restrictions in construction of buildings hence a further reduction from the initial brought by low prices. Other factors affecting supply include the attitude of the locals in the area concerning the construction of new homes, and the regulation on the use of land. Government policy include subsidy of construction for low-income houses and the capping of rent by the rent tribunal. This helps to shift the demand curve to the right and ensure that there is no shortage of housing facilities. Conclusion The demand and supply of houses works like that of any other market in the economy, where the forces will determine the equilibrium price. At this price, both the buyer and seller are satisfied and there is market clearance. The price of houses is the underlining factor that will determine both demand and supply. Other factors is the availability of credit to both the tenants and the developers that will determine the demand and supply. The government works to ensure that there are no inefficiencies in the housing market. It regulates the rent and provides subsidy for low-cost housing to ensure both affordability and surplus. Regulation is meant to protect the tenants from exploitation by property owners. References BEARDSHAW, J. (2001).Economics: a student's guide. Harlow, Pearson Higher Education. BEGG, D. K. H. Child Development Essays (289 words) - Child Development

Child Development I really enjoyed reading about cognitive and social development in infancy, I can relate to it after being around my nephew and niece when they were going through their infancy. First of all, I would have to say that I also disagree with Piaget's theory. I think that infants develop perceptual vision and can tell the difference between objects and backround earlier than Piaget believed. I believe that they develop memory earlier also. For example, a favorite blanket or stuffed animal they may ecspecially like and remember, or even the infant recognizing and knowing their parents is an example of memory. I thought the section on language was interesting. I would have to agree with the idea that children have a critical period, where they have a readiness to learn language, and if they miss this period, it is hard to learn. The story of Gene is a perfect example. I always thought it would be great to be bilingual. Then when I do have kids, I can teach them two languages at the same time. I'm currently working at a chinese restaurant owned by an entire chinese family. One of the little boys, who is seven, can speak both English and Chinese very well. Concerning social development in infants, I would have to say that the attatchment and bond between mother and infant is the strongest and most important bond the child will experience. Hopefully in the future, more fathers will also get the chance to experience such a bond. I thought it was great watching my nephew and niece go through infancy. I remember one day I was laying on my bed watching my nephew. He had discovered his lips, and that he could make bubble sounds and gurgling noises. Reading these chapters brought back all the memories of his baby days. Psychology Essays

Essay Sample on Teacher Indentity Who Am I

Essay Sample on Teacher Indentity Who Am I Sample essay on Teacher Indentity: I am a 24 year old white female from a middle class family. I hail from a family of six siblings and I am the youngest. I have always had a passion for teaching ever since I was in high school. This is the time I realized that my future was really in teaching. During my early school years, I would not tell what my career would be. This is the time whereby if you ask any student, they would probably tell you that they would love to pursue medicine, engineering or since these are the most prestigious courses around. Likewise, I would not tell what I wanted to do at this time as I was too young to understand what careers meant. Immediately I stepped into high school education, my mind was broad now and I would tell that my future lay in teaching. During my high school years, I interacted with many teachers who gave me insight into this career. My teachers really encouraged me to follow my passion as one is only able to succeed by following his/her interest. Apart from this, I attended m any career talks during my high school years which gave more knowledge concerning career choices. My race as a white would influence my teaching because I intend to work in a white dominated region of this country. As a result of this, I would not have any problem adjusting due to possible constrains that may come as a result of racial discrimination. Being from another race in the region would be challenging for anyone who is beginning to teach as there are no constrains due to racial prejudice. My being white would also enable me fit well in the area I intend to teach in the sense that I will be teaching children who do not have diverse cultures. Teaching becomes especially challenging when one meets students of various cultures and as a result of this, it becomes important to alter teaching methods so as to accommodate all cultures. My female gender is also a bonus in teaching since in nature; the feminine gender is regarded as being the one with a calm, kind and patient nature as compared to the masculine gender. As a female, I would be patient and accommodating when it comes to the handling of student affairs. This is a bonus in the teaching process since handling of student affairs requires patience and understanding. As a female also, there are motherly instincts in me which would ensure that I treat all students like my own children. By so doing, it would be possible to address all student affairs effectively to the satisfaction of students. By hailing from a middle class family, it has assisted me in my career as I have not lacked any resources for pursuing my career in teaching. There are many people who aspire to be the best teachers but the limitedness or inadequacy of resources has hindered them from pursuing the career effectively. My fee has always paid my fees in time and I have received the necessary academic books and documentations that has enabled me study with ease. Besides, I have been able to attend all academic trips and workshops concerning teaching ever since I was in high school. By having the necessary financial and emotional support from my family members, I have been able to acquire a potent teacher identity as I have not studied with any difficulties or distractions. Besides, my mother and father have always been there to answer all my questions concerning teaching and in cases where I have faced challenges, they have managed to guide me and advise me well. I am, therefore, equipped fully on the ex pectations of being a teacher and potential challenges. I do not have much experience in teaching, but I have slight experience from my vacations and post high school years. After my high school, I requested the principal of the nearest school to offer me a chance to teach for free. The 6 month experience I got from this teaching has assisted me by enhancing my confidence. When a friend of mine was absent in her elementary school some years back, I requested to take some of her lessons which has further enhanced my teaching experience. I can, therefore, say that I have noteworthy teaching identity due to the slight experience that I have gained over the years. I would, hence, never, have a difficult time teaching students as I have experienced it before and any jitters that I previously had are no longer there. I am a courageous, industrious and aggressive character and from these traits, I believe I would succeed in teaching. Effective teachers are courageous because it requires massive courage to stand in front of a mass of students and pass knowledge. Panicking in front of students will not make an effective teacher. Over the years, I have been courageous in my decisions and I believe this attribute would take me far in the teaching profession. My industry would impact on my teaching positively since industry is a recipe for success in any career. Teaching requires extreme industry since the process of dealing with students is a tedious and exhausting venture. Making students pass would further require an industrious teacher, and. I therefore, strongly believe that my attributes would assist me catalyze student success. I am also a principled character who stands by what I believe without being swayed by public opinion. These traits would assist me in my teaching since teaching requires one to make swift and upright judgment without being influenced. Students would not have a problem with me because my judgment would be impartial without favoring anyone. By being a firm teacher, the management would respect my decisions and opinions. Teachers who are easily swayed by the management do not make efficient tutors since the management can make them support a wrong deed for the well of the school while displeasing parents and pupils alike. I would not want students and parents to have such opinions about me; hence, I would always strive to do deeds that are right without favoring anyone. Therefore, these attributes would spur me to succeed in the teaching profession. My surrounding community is comprised of hardworking and successful people, and this culture over the years has spurred hard work and indus try in me. As a result of the culture that I have observed in my community, I, therefore, believe that attributes of success have been instilled in me. Therefore, all these factors will contribute to my succeeding in teaching.

In what ways does language shape our understanding of money and the Essay

In what ways does language shape our understanding of money and the economy - Essay Example When people speak about the future, they speak as if the future is more distinct from the past and feels distant. People get less motivated to save their money now in favor of the comfort of monetary value in future years (Holmes, 2009). Speaking a language that has no obligatory future markers such as Mandarin tend to stimulates people to accumulate more retirement assets. The national savings rates of a country are adversely affected by language. A country with smaller proportion of people speaking languages that does not have obligatory future markers tend to increases the rates of national savings. Evidence from research suggests that a person’s vernacular shapes the way he or she thinks about the various aspects of the real world, space and time. This has broad implications in the spheres of economics, politics and law (Reed 2009). Language structure affects our judgments and decisions concerning the future and this may have remarkable long-term consequences. From an economic point of view, people’s rates of savings are affected by various factors such as their income, age, education level, religious affiliation, their cultural values and their countries’ legal systems. Even though after all those factors were accounted for, language effect on the people’s savings rates turned out to be tremendous. Spoken language like English has obligatory future markers making people about 30 percent less likely to save money for the future use. People often counter certain economic policies as they disapprove on moral grounds of the assumptions on which they think the policies rest but not because they have been or would be economically hurt by such policies without even carefully calculating views about their economic worth (Reed 2009). There are over 7,000 languages spoken all over the world, which exhibit tremendous variance. Research has shown that language from verb tenses to gender to metaphors usually

Change Management: Carrefour Group

Change Management: Carrefour Group Background to the organization Carrefour is a multinational company which has its retail stores almost all over the world. In the recent past it has expanded the business in the Asian Market. In the year 1995, this company had total of seven stores in Asia but in year 2004, this total went up to 126 stores which was a huge gain for the company. One of the best features of the company was that it was not affected by the economic crisis that happened and this was the biggest reason that company came up with its plan in UAE. Carrefour is an infrastructure group and the real estate was the section which was very much affected by the economic downfall but the company had enough capability to face the risk that it did not get affected (United Arab Emirates: Carrefour expands its services in retail sector). Carrefour is the second largest retail group in the entire world. Carrefour entered into UAE in the year 1995 and till now it has 11 big retail stores around UAE. And soon it will be a famous hypermarket at Dubai Sports City at Emirates Road in Dubai. The company provides as much as 6800 to 14000 sq m of area for a hypermarket in UAE. CEO: Josà ©-Luis Duran (Fortune Globe 500, 2007) Employees: 456,295 Address: 26 Quai Michelet, Levallois-Perret 92695, France (main office) Phone: 33-1-5563-3900 Website: www.carrefour.com Present Rank: 32nd in the World SWOT Analysis Strengths and Weaknesses (Internally COntrolled factors) Strengths One of the major strategic successes of the company is that Carrefour has collaboration with one of the most successful infrastructure company in the world, MAF of Abu Dhabi. This gives the company strength to the company to improve the internal built. The internal reason for the company to collaborate with MAF in UAE because of the restrictions that UAE government put on the foreign companies to start up a business in the country. In order to get the ease, this collaboration has occurred. As far as the industry average in the country in the field of real estate is seen, Carrefour is far above the industry average and the main reason is that it got unaffected at the time of economic crisis. The company is in a phase of a continuous success for the past fourteen years which is easily reflected in the financial ratios of the company which shows a continuous betterment for the past several years. The human resource management of the company is also very strong and it shows the increasing betterment in the performance matrix of the company. This gives the internal support to the company especially in the case of recruitment process. Companys standing at present is at the 32nd place which is really a remarkable success and strength for Carrefour and gives it a motivation to improve its ranking further. Due to the fact that most of the investments done by the company are huge, hence company takes a collaboration of government subsidiaries in UAE which prevent any hindrance in the future. The marketing department of the company is very highly appreciated because of the fact that the company has a huge brand value all around the world and after the success of Hypermarket at Dubai Sports City; it is going to be better and better. The financial department of the company and the research and development section are simultaneously doing a great job of understanding the financial situation of the people living in UAE and accordingly plan the investment. Hypermarket is the best suited for this purpose. Weaknesses The collaboration with MAF is absolutely very helpful for Carrefour in UAE but along with the strengths there are several weaknesses associated with this collaboration. The company does not have full freedom to take the decisions and especially the financial decision. The only area where the company can take the 100 percent decision is the operational department but otherwise there would be several restrictions posed by the collaborated companies. One of the biggest weakness can be that around three fourth of the total profit of the company is in the hands of MAF which means that the investment point of view is really weak because if any person would like to be the part of stakeholder of Carrefour, he would have to worry. There are several social concerns of the company like increasing Emiratization with in the company which means that there is a specific percentage that they have to give to the national employees. This may reduce the output of the company. It is true that economic crisis has not affected Carrefour but under the rules made by the government, there are several restrictions posed on the company which stops the company in its fast expansion. Opportunities and Threats (Externally COntrolled Factors) Opportunities There are several opportunities for the company to expand its business in UAE. The most important factor is its demography. The culture and social aspect of the country is absolutely support the advancement and enhancement of whatever the company is doing. There are several malls and several other locations which are suiting the infrastructure of Carrefour. The financial crisis in 2008 had made the situation worst for the country in the real estate structure. There are several companies which are still lagging because of that crisis. It gives a big opportunity for Carrefour to rapidly enhance the business so that there could be better prospects in the future. Dubai Sports City itself is one of the best opportunities for Carrefour group because of royal crowd and enthusiasm. Threats Of course, if there are so many opportunities for the company in UAE, then threat have to be there. The biggest threat that the company will seek is huge competition in the market. However, it would be lesser because of economic crisis of 2008 but still companies like EMAAR give Carrefour a healthy competition in the country. That too, when the company is foreign based and its major shares are not owned by the company itself. Change Identification This part of the projects deals with the different types of problems related to the identification of changes in the organization: Identification of different kind of changes which can exist Identification for the reason for such changes Identification of scopes and goals for such changes Identification of present part of the changes and comparison with the future prospects Kind of changes This project deals with the parts of the changes which have occurred in Carrefour with its collaboration with MAF in UAE to expand the business. There are several kinds of changes which company has undergone in order to commit this partnership with MAF. Several types of changes which company has seen because of this collaboration are as follows: Change in the working atmosphere in UAE Change in the policies of the company Change in the human resource activities of the company Changes in the process of implementation of work Changes in the roles and responsibilities of employees of the company Changes in the owner ship of the company In order to start for the working progress of Hypermarket in the Dubai Sports City, Carrefour went into collaboration with MAF which has brought about several changes in the organization and its working. This collaboration has affected the atmosphere of the entire organization. Being a French organization, Carrefour has absolutely a different culture and different atmosphere which prevails in the company but entering into UAE was an absolute change for the company. The change in the working process of the company is very high as it does not match to the working standards of Carrefour in other countries. There are several changes in the policies and processes and especially the ownership has a great effect because of such collaboration Reason for changes There are different reasons which have led to the growth of such changes in the organizational structure and its working process. The main of them all is ors collaboration with MAF. Entering into UAE for a foreign based company is not an easy job to do until unless company do not have any partner who is national of UAE and that too with a partnership of more than 50 percent shares of the company. Hence, company entered into the UAE market with its collaboration in MAF for making Hypermarket in the Dubai Sports City. Another reason for changes could be a sense of an easy capture to the market because of its collaboration with MAF because MAF is very well known Construction Company in UAE. Everyone in the country knows this company; it would be very much beneficial for Carrefour to enter into business in UAE having collaborated with MAF. Changes in the scope of the company Carrefour has undergone a change at the entire organizational level. There are some special areas where the company has seen a number of changes. These areas where company has seen a number of changes are as follows: Changes in the types of employees Working process of the company Levels of Departments Business process units Level of systems Above are the main areas which have undergone changes for Carrefour because of the collaboration with MAF. It was quite obvious for these areas to undergo changes because of the reason that there is a huge difference in the culture and the atmosphere of both the companies is entirely difference. One is a France based company and another is a UAE based company. Goals for Changes There are several goals which have been identified to connect them with the changes: Collaboration between Carrefour and MAF For fulfillment of law and order in UAE To benefit the name of MAF to seek the competitive advantage To make people of UAE know about the company Enhance the business Where are you now? GAP Analysis GAP Analysis basically deals with highlighting the difference between the implemented strategies and the expected strategies. There can be two different types of gap may be there, namely Knowledge Gap and Strategic Gap. The exact meaning of Gap analysis is to analyze the difference between the present situations of the company and the future prospects of the company. At the starting, it is necessary to analyze the present condition of the company and in the next situation, the future condition of the company is taken care of. Present and the future condition of the company are necessary to analyze because it gives an indication about the performance of the company. There are different types of analysis takes place in the GAP Analysis of any company. Comparison of organizational performance Comparison of marketing potential of the company Comparison of Business relationships of the company Comparison of operational activities of the company The following diagram shows the gap analysis of Carrefour. Fundamentals Applied for Changes (Kurt Lewin 3 step model) Unfreezing: This corresponds for Carrefour to getting itself ready for desired changes that it going to get in by making collaboration with MAF in UAE. Changes: This corresponds to present situation where the changes are being untaken by the company and making it happening for the customers and the staff. Freezing: This corresponds to the final approval of the changed strategies by Carrefour. Present situation of the company Carrefour is a widely known organization which operates in various countries. It sees different types of organizational culture wherever it starts its operation. This would happen in all the places and same in the case in performing operation in UAE. The culture of UAE is varied. Here, majority of the population is expatriates, which means that in this country there are people from different parts of the world. This is one of the biggest problems that the company is facing. Actually, this is not a problem but it is a concern which is so important to be taken care of by the company. Another concern with Carrefour is the restrictions which are imposed by the culture and the local government of the country on the company. These restrictions stop the company from taking various decisions due to the fact that company has a major share holding with MAF. The root of all such concerns of the company is the strict law which is followed in UAE and high number of expatriates coming in the country. But in another way, for business of Carrefour, this is profitable as well. There are some challenges associated with the present scenario of operational and all around management of Carrefour in UAE. There are several restrictions posed by the government on the foreign based companies to start up businesses in UAE. This is the biggest challenge that the company face and this needs to be soon addressed. Where do you want to be? Future State of the company This will describe the state of the company after little time (at least 5 years after the collaboration between MAF and Carrefour). The future of the company is supposed to be more in favor of MAF rather than Carrefour. The main reason behind this is that the majority of the shares of the company are held by MAF which accounts for more than 50 percent ownership of the company which means that in case of profit to the company, there will be more profit for MAF rather than Carrefour. The future prospects for the company in future are obviously growing as hypermarket in Dubai Sports City is one of the rare infrastructural buildings which are there in the city. This makes this a special place for the local population and the tourist to roam around. But the only problem which the company will have to face is that huge percentage of partnership is taken by MAF which means that huge percentage of profit will go to MAF. Another future prospect which can be helpful in generating more profit is that there is no tax charged by the government which allows the company generate more revenues and earn more money. The organizational culture in the future will be more or what same as the company has its organizational culture in Dubai at present. The organizational culture would be very much diversified. Reason being there are people coming from all over the world to this country. Around 80 percent of the total population of UAE comprises of expatriates. This means that staff in the organization will be of diversified culture. There are several steps which have to be done frequently by Carrefour. These steps are as follows: Company should well regulate its collaboration with MAF so that it can easily operate in the country Company should think of expanding the business and should keep an eye on the total earnings so that it can generate maximum possible profit Company should hire people with in the country and also should call some of the higher authorities from some of the different branches of Carrefour so that it can sustain the culture of the company in the internal matters at least. Company should formulate the strategies according to the marketing potential in the country and according to the diversified public of UAE but along with that company should also keep an eye on the laws, rules and regulations given by UAE. Company should formulate the strategies with in the company in such a manner which would help it to succeed in the plans and should help to generate more and more revenue. Readiness of the organization to undergo the changes This is one of the best possible reasons which could account for change management in the company. Carrefour, being one of the biggest organizations in real estate and infrastructure entered into the business for making hypermarket at Dubai Sports City by collaborating with MAF. There are several changes that company had to face in order to implement their business plan in the country. The biggest change that company had come up with is the organizational culture in the country which is very much different from any other country in the world. There are several restrictions on the business activities imposed on the company by the local government of UAE. The company is ready to adopt these changes in order to generate profit. It might be possible that company do not suit with such an atmosphere of organizational culture but the company is ready to accept the changes because it knows that UAE gives the best possible prospect for their business. Deliverable: To Identify whether the company is ready to adopt the changes Implementation Team Leader: Board of Directors Implementation Sponsor: Strategic Management Team PEOPLE READINESS Action Required When Completed Business Unit / Product Group Actions Were the contracts of business unit notified? There are several changes which will be required by the organization to adopt the business sense according to the culture in the country: There are two types of strategies which will help the company to come up with the changes. These are: Rational This is quite natural that organizational structure of the company has to be changed. It requires changes according to the diversified culture of UAE. New system of workgroup and the human resource is necessary in the company so as to run the business properly in UAE. The main reason behind this is that this will be the first hypermarket in the country which means that the industry and exposure for the company is going to be new. Highly sophisticated system will be required by the company for the process because of the hugeness of the market exposure for the company in UAE Non Rational There will be change in the relationships as well. Carrefour needs to build good relationships with MAF and government of Dubai so as to get the best out of their business techniques in the country. The culture will accept the changes which will be made by Carrefour in UAE. Reason being these changes will be made according to the culture of UAE. Process Change It is required for the company to have process change as well. Process change is necessary. If it would have been a brand of some eatables, clothes, then it would have required that process should have maintained as it is every where but this is an infrastructure company. The structure of the building, shops in the hypermarket and every thing else which is a part of process in the companys operational activities need to be changed according to the destination (change management). Hence all the processes of Carrefour need to be differentiated according to the need in Dubai Sports City. There are some important process changes required by the company: Management process Recruitment process Operational process People Change In order to make changes it might be possible that job roles of the people and their responsibilities change. The biggest problem with the people change result in the de recruitment of some very intelligent people from the company so as to follow the rules and regulations of the company. Roles and responsibilities of the employees will be affected because they will be enforced to follow different prospect Knowledge and training will be entirely different, especially it would required by the employee to learn Arabic in order to work at the ground level Work practices will be entirely be different as a result of the change because these work practices would clearly adopt the culture of UAE. Third party relationships will also be built. This could be done mainly because of the relationships of MAF in the country. The relationships will be built with several agents of MAF. Carrefour will come in contact with these agent companies and will create third party relationships in the market. Information Sharing During the change in the process of Carrefour, there is some information which needs to be shared among the partners of the business. Carrefour and MAF are the two organizations who have collaborated to make hypermarket in Dubai Sports City. There is certain information which has been shared between the two organizations. These are: Financial Information (this needs to be very much critical because MAF has a huge sharing Hypermarket) Some parts of the operational information There are some policies of Carrefour which have changed due to the information sharing. These policies could be: Policies for the implementation of financial plan Policies for fixing up of prices There are several methods which are used for sharing information. These methods are: Direct Conversation In direct conversation There are some processes needed in order to manage the knowledge about the project. These processes are: Knowledge sharing process Internal Managerial Process Cost of Change Financial support is also needed to manage the changes. There are different types of cost which will be required in order to manage the organization. These costs are as follows: Cost of training the new employees in the organization Cost of integration with MAF ( all the legal formalities are included in that) Opportunity cost will also be included. This opportunity cost will be based on the opportunity of the organization to build up a hypermarket in any other country There are different modes of financial support available with the company. These are: Borrowing the money from an external source Issues shares in the share market Investment by the company itself Selling the fixed assets of the company Risk Assessment During the implementation process, it is highly possible that company will be affected by several risks. It is very much necessary that these risks are to be eliminated in order to carry out the work in a smooth manner. Risks that might be involved with the implementation of the project are as follows: Change could lead to incur losses Planning may not be effective Scope for change may not be there It is necessary to minimize the risks as well and hence following steps could be taken. In order to keep the project very much viable for the changes. It is necessary that changes are done with proper planning and keeping in view the culture with the country. For example in UAE, there is a diversified culture and hence accordingly changes should be implemented It could be possible that planning may not work well and hence alternatives should be made so that if one plan fails, company immediately can apply the other one In the case when changes are not adapted by the country and its people then obviously company should keep going with the old policies and old culture. Risk Assessment Matrix Change could lead to incur losses Likelihood Consequences Insignificant Minor Moderate Major Catastrophic Almost certain Likely Possible Unlikely Rare Planning may not be effective Likelihood Consequences Insignificant Minor Moderate Major Catastrophic Almost certain Likely Possible Unlikely Rare Scope for change may not be there Likelihood Consequences Insignificant Minor Moderate Major Catastrophic Almost certain Likely Possible Unlikely Rare Risk Assessment Table Risk no Date of occurrence Risk Description Low Medium High Mitigation action taken Approval of commencement Date 1 Change could lead to incur losses Communication Plan Made 31 August, 2010 4 Planning may not be effective Periodic Review Made 31 August, 2010 2 Scope for change may not be there Periodic Review Made 31 August, 2010 Change Approach (Developing a Critique) Main objectives of this section are: This section finds out the stakeholder of the company and their role in the company What are the barriers that come in between the growth Roles and responsibilities of change management team Stakeholder Analysis Stakeholder is the one on whose stake the company is running. Time To Change :: essays research papers

Time To Change The earth and many of its contents, thanks in large part to humans, is deteriorating and it has been for quite a time now. It is overwhelmingly populated with both ignorant and lazy people. In effect, not much is being done to prevent this deterioration. For instance, we are killing off vital animal populations every day. We have caused the extinction or endangerment of numerous species for absolutely no reason other than selfishness. An example is the poaching of elephants. We are killing these animals only for our own wealth. We take their ivory and leave them behind to die. As a result, they are on the verge of extinction. Also, pollution caused by humans and their inventions cause a major dilemma. Automobile exhaust fumes and factory pollutants are only a couple of the impurities causing damaging affects to the ozone layer and atmosphere. We depend on the ozone to defend us from harmful UV rays. Finally, we have a major impact on the degeneration of natural resources. Millions of gallons of oil, coal, and other valuable resources are wasted each day. These are just a few of the human disruptions to nature available to our knowledge. We are conscious of many more, and there are probably others that we are not aware of. If we do not start taking them seriously soon it will be too late, if it is not already. We need to reevaluate our priorities and plan for the future existence of this world. A group labeled the Earth-Firsters' often attempt to accomplish this task through drastic and sometimes dangerous methods. As Joni Seager states ( The Eco-Fringe: Deep Ecology, Pg. 636), "In Australia, Earth-First protesters buried themselves up to their necks in the sand in the middle of logging roads to stop lumbering operations; in the American Southwest, Earth Firsters handcuffed themselves to trees and bulldozers to prevent logging; and in California, they dressed in dolphin and mermaid costumes to picket the stockholders' meeting of a tuna-fishing company." The Earth-Firsters' tactics are not the only drastic only measures they practice. Their ideas seem to be quite extreme as well. For example, they believe the population of the world is entirely too high, by as much as ninety percent, causing too much "wear and tear" to the earth. To resolve this issue, some say we should cease all study toward the curing of disease. Others said we should stop aid to the poor, sick, and homeless. They ration in Africa that the sickness is a natural occurrence. B2B VS B2C

Business to business can be defined as business that is involved in selling products to other businesses. In reality business-to-business (B2B) exist both online and offline but the B2B acronym has mainly been used to describe the online variety which has become common in the world today. Business-to-consumer (B2C) can be described as businesses that are concerned in selling products or providing services to end-user consumers.Business-to-consumer exist both online and offline but the acronym B2C has been used to describe business online (Kinder, 2001; Fang, Milena and Norm, 2002). B2B is mainly concerned in selling its products to another company that then sell to the final consumers. Business-to-business operates large number of transactions as compared to business-to-consumer and hence the transactions are mainly dealt with using electronic media. Business-to-business has adopted electronic commerce to enhance efficiency and reliability (Kinder, 2001).B2B is complicated with many employees while B2C is simpler and consist of fewer employees as compared to B2B. Business-to-business involves transactions between buyers and suppliers at organizational level. While business-to-consumers represent interaction between buyer and seller at individual level (Kinder, 2001; Fang, Milena and Norm, 2002). Business-to-business seems to do well online while business-to-consumer has lost fame due to loss of large sums of money when it was first inverted hence not widely used by many companies.Markets that are concerned by B2B are comparatively larger and overcrowded than B2C (Kinder, 2001; Fang, Milena and Norm, 2002). B2B email marketing has differences with B2C. In email marketing B2B has other major objectives other than sale objective, for example marketing the products available in the said company and hence it takes long before one land to the page that directs you to the purchase page. B2C primary objective in email marketing is sales and hence the initial click take s one to landing, page and then after few seconds to shopping cart.In a B2B the buyer is provided with the necessary logistics and then follow a series of steps in the email campaign which include both online and offline procedures before getting the to the last step which include phone call an employee representative of the company, a PDF document may then be attached to the email by the representative and for high-end products and services, a face-to-face meeting may be more efficient. In both B2B and B2C, there is limited permission in regard to email marketing with the consumer/buyers to obtain information require a longer process in B2B to ensure seriousness and reliability of the exchange. The buyers are assured of confidentiality of the information they give while in B2C there are no such services. In B2C, once the customer has entered the required information than include name, phone and mailing address, one expects to be handed in the purchased product immediately (Kinder, 2 001). In both B2B and B2C, there is the challenge of copywriting. It’s argued that in email marketing, it’s hard to tell whether the words or voice used compels the consumer well. However B2B is said to be more efficient in compelling buyers than B2C which uses a subject line to capture attention of the buyer (Fang, Milena and Norm, 2002).B2B which deal with large volumes of transactions is more likely to incur the problem of outdated email addresses especially when people change email address unless the marketer signs up with email change of address (ECOA) service like Return Path. B2C hardly incurs the problem because the list of email addresses provided is updated. Moreover B2C deal with small number of transactions hence it’s easy to trace the buyer’s addresses and verify their reliability (Kinder, 2001; Fang, Milena and Norm, 2002). It’s argued that B2B email marketing is more interesting than B2C.B2B involves moving back and forth, side to si de and numerous interesting information is provided which attract attention of the buyer but the B2C only provide one leading page which doesn’t have much information and hence not adventurous (Kinder, 2001). The Race Beat The Press, The Civil Rights Struggle, And...

Roberts, Gene, and Hank Klibanoff. The Race Beat: The Press, the Civil Rights Struggle, and the Awakening of a Nation. New York: Knopf, 2006. The Race Beat, written by Gene Roberts and Hank Klibanoff, was about the major impact that the press had on the American People to show the ignorance we’d had to that point in ignoring the horrible segregation our country was showing towards african americans. The events portrayed take place during the civil rights movement. The Race Beat shows the change in style of coverage of the civil rights movement and how the movement itself could take advantage of the press and use it in a much more productive way than before. The author points out in his thesis what he is trying to prove. â€Å"There is little in American society that was not altered by the civil rights movement. There is little in the civil rights movement that was not changed by the news coverage of it. And there is little in the way the news media operate that was not influenced by their coverage of the movement.†(page 7) The authors were very good at proving this thesis to be correct because of their firs t hand experience that is portrayed and the accuracy of the reaction to the new reporting, as it gained national attention. Gene Roberts was one of the young reporters that took on coverage and Hank Klibanoff was one of the editors. The information and coverage of their first hand accounts is very detailed and gives a perspective to the reader, but what stands out is theShow MoreRelatedEssay on The Civil Rights Movement4776 Words   |  20 Pagesprotection from them. â€Å"Civil rights† is the term used when speaking of the privileges, immunities, and practices of freedom which are protected from violation by other citizens.
